Mr. Shoemaker has successfully represented qui tam relators and whistleblowers in a variety of state and federal False Claims Act cases. In many of these cases, in addition to a whistleblower award, Mr. Shoemaker obtained major awards for clients who were fired in retaliation for their attempts to stop fraud. He and his partners have obtained government intervention in many whistleblower cases.

Their recoveries have resulted in hundreds of millions of dollars being returned to various government agencies and millions of dollars being awarded to their clients. One of Mr. Shoemaker’s clients was among the eight successful relators in the 2009 recovery against Pfizer. Mr. Shoemaker’s experience in representing employees shows in his case results. From sexual harassment cases to wage and hour disputes, he has obtained several six and seven-figure recoveries for clients in Virginia and around the United States. He has represented a broad cross-section of clients including Fortune 500 CEOs, television personalities, laborers, physicians and minimum wage employees.

A significant and growing area of his practice includes representing individuals in restrictive covenant and non-compete litigation arising from an employer/employee relationship. He strives to find ways to make the highest quality representation cost effective for professionals and executives who find themselves faced with this type of litigation.

While Mr. Shoemaker has resolved many cases for federal employees through the government’s administrative hearing and settlement process, he is determined to appeal cases to U.S. District Court when the administrative process yields unsatisfactory results.
